All-Day Kindergarten On The Rise
What used to be three hours of kindergarten is now six. Research
shows that 39 out of 50 states support this new hour change. People felt the
need to extend the hours because the children barely had time for learning
during those short hours. Teachers were able to get educational experiences
such as field trips and learning the alphabet when the people at the
department of education approved all-day kindergarten schools to be
opened.
A majority of voters said that all-day kindergarten schools might have
ranged from $50 to $150 for enrollment fees. Most of the anonymous voters
explained that their experience in an all-day kindergarten school helped
them academically during first grade.
Even though this kind of school hours may be helpful to the children’s
minds, it will also tire the young kids. Children that are aged below eight
years old need their rest frequently or their focus will be gone.
Kindergarteners or young people need to rest for concentration, and how can
they do that when their at school during their usual time to nap. Well, they
can’t.
The quote “It is impossible for a man to learn what he thinks he
already knows,” relates to the experiences in kindergarten because you can
never learn too much. There will always be something that you don’t know.
That is the purpose of kindergarten, to prepare you for the future, to help you
gain the knowledge that you will need.
Education is something that we all need. People who attend longer
hours of school no matter what age they are, end up getting more knowledge
than those that attend half- days. From what my research has told me, eight
out of eleven anonymous voters responded that both types of kindergarten
times, half and all-day kindergarten, will get the same amount of students
enrolled in the future. Two out of eleven argued with the idea of having the
equal amount of students in half days than all-days. Their opinion is that
more students will attend all-days. The last vote went to the idea of having
more students in half-days.
When you become and adult and have kids make sure to consider
enrolling them to an all day kindergarten if you want them to move at a
faster academic speed than other kids. Believe in what your children or
siblings can do. They might be able to accomplish more than you could ever
imagine if they receive the right amount of education.
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

Christmas Shopping or Thanksgiving Shopping!!??
Many people start shopping during the Thanksgiving sale, although some people prefer shopping for Christmas time on it's own time. One out of every six or 77 percent of all Americans prefer shopping during the Thanksgiving weekend. Even though you will save a lot during that time of the year, many people will be there to. Pushing, and pulling, kicking and scratching! Is it worth it? If, you go shopping for presents around Christmas time, you might now get exactly what you want to buy because of your procrastination to shop. What's great about Thanksgiving shopping is that, mostly everything is affordable. On the other hand, Christmas shopping is a chance to buy all of the things that you couldn't buy before. The later you shop the more new things there are to buy. Although, the earlier you shop the cheaper. Choose the right time, find the right price, and get what you need.
Dear santa letter
dDear Santa,
Each year you bring smiles on peoples faces, hope for children, and gifts all around the world in just one day, this year I hope you bring a wide grin to my face. All these years I have believed in you from when you delivered your first present and I will believe in you until you deliver your last present.
I have been a good girl this year and I think that I am worthy of a puppy, preferably a Golden Retriever. During the past years I have helped family and friends hoping that my parents would see that I was ready for a big responsibility. I promise that I will take good care of a puppy, take her for a daily walk, feed her everyday, and even clean after her. Santa, please grant my wish because you know deep down inside that I deserve a puppy.
Currently, I am still convincing my mom into letting me get a dog. I always get the same answer from her and it’s always no. This year I was hoping on getting a yes from you, Santa. You always get kids what they want for Christmas and this year all I’m asking for is a puppy. I will study harder than I used to, do more chores around the house, I will do anything to persuade you into getting me a puppy for Christmas.
People say that you are not real sometimes, although most of us know the truth, you do exist in our minds and hearts.I know that this is your busiest time of the year so thank you for taking time of your busy schedule just to read my letter, Santa. I hope to find a puppy on Christmas so please grant my wish at least this once. Many people such as myself believe in your powers so please do not let all of us down.
Sincerely,
Angel Lyn Calisay
Thanksgiving
The Story Behind The Thanksgiving Turkey.
Thanksgiving first started in the year of 1621. Turkey was not the only food that the pilgrims enjoyed. The pilgrims most enjoyed dear meat and wild fowls. The goose was the first mascot for thanksgiving because, there was a story about how Queen Elizabeth of the 16th century was eating a roasted goose when the Spanish Armada had sunk before it could attack her country, England. Because of this news Queen Elizabeth ate a second goose. Since then then the goose became known in England and it was also the countries favorite mascot for the holiday. When does the turkey come in? When the pilgrims migrated here to the United States from England they chose to eat turkeys instead of the goose. They ate turkeys since then because geese were too hard to find here in the early days. Even though I am not yet an American, I still show gratefulness for a country that we should definitely be thankful for.

Grateful
I am grateful for my cousin, Racquel. Even if we may be just cousins, she has treated me as if I were her sister. I am an only child so I am grateful that someone would actually treat me as if I wasn’t an only child. When our dad’s go somewhere for business or just isn’t around the house we call our uncle our dad, that way we can be sisters. I am so grateful that I have these two people in my life. They treat me like I’m the closest person to them. I love them just as they are, and I never want to lose them in my life.
Satire
I love homework so much! We have a bunch of that kind of stuff. I stay up until one o'clock finishing it. English, social studies, well you know that kind of thing. I love, I love it, I love it. We never run out, we have enough for everybody even you. Homework is the best thing ever. Don't you agree?
Halloween, the best time of the year!
Once a year, on the 31st day of October people of all ages do something called TRICK OR TREATING! Sure not a lot of good can come to our teeth but, it's just the best thing ever to parade around random streets while ringing on different doorbells just to ask for candy. Believe it or not this is my first Halloween with braces. Just because of my braces, this year I am not allowed to eat hard candy which is bad news mostly around this time of the year. This year I am going trick or treating as the queen of hearts. Don't tell my dentist but I have already started eating candy as soon as we bought it this year which was about a week ago. I hope I still remember how to trick or treat because I haven't gone trick or treating in two years now. I am also excited to go to the Halloween dance because I have never gone to a dance before. I missed out on the dances during fifth grade because I went back two the Philippines.
My queen of hearts costume includes hair extensions to bring back the look of my hair before I cut it, a stick on tattoo, and a heart skirt with cute leggings. I am looking forward to seeing the costumes of my classmates because I've been waiting and planning for this Halloween for months. From head to toe I've planned my look so that nothing can go wrong and I hope nothing will.
This Halloween will be very special to me because this year my family and I are planning on going Pumpkin picking for the right pumpkin to carve. I hope you have a great Halloween. 'Till next time, happy Halloween!

Does Patriotism Still Matter?
Patriotism does matter, it will always matter even at times when you think
patriotism doesn’t apply to you because you’re not an American. It applies to
every one of us here in America. The things and the rights that we have are all
preserved by the military. They fight for you, me, and every single one of us.
Those people helped you become what you are today. When I fight and speak with
some one it will still matter.
I am proud to be any where in America knowing that the veterans are protecting
me. They show their love and devotion to our country even if it means leaving
their loved ones. They show that patriotism and we should to.
November 4th and July 4th that’s the time to show that we care about the people
that fight, protect and dedicate their lives just to preserve ours. The veterans
work hard protect our country and that’s why we should be thankful for their
work not just on these two particular holiday but everyday. They show love and
dedication to this country so much that they would put their lives at risk just
to secure it. People celebrate these occasions by watching fireworks and
watching the ceremony of putting new names on the Vietnam Veteran Memorial Wall
located in Washington D.C.
Honor, protection, independence are a few words to describe what the veterans
brought to us, not physically but you know that the honor is there. What you
also might know is that it takes so much just for the veterans to claim this
kind of victory. They get injured and a majority of them dies. If that’s not
patriotism and dedication I don’t know what is. For all that they’ve done for
us, we as in the patriots of America should help them by sending letters or
anything to make them more special than they already are.
Patriotism still matters whatever happens. It’s the thing that make this great
country even greater, even stronger.

Reflecting on Ralph Fletchers Writing
These past few days in English class we have been reflecting on five excerpts from Ralph Fletcher's book Marshfield Dreams: When I Was a Kid. This post is supposed to help us understand different techniques of writing. My personal favorite of all the techniques he used was using comparison. He would at one point of the story compare himself and a jellyfish then in another he would compare his his love for baseball to war. As you continue reading on this post I hope you will emote and connect to Ralph Fletcher himself.
In his vignette "First Pen," he states,"What words were hidden-unborn, unwritten-in all that unused ink?" (Fletcher,2005,p.44) Here he lets his readers experience a new kind of text. He leaves his readers wondering, about the pen, about the words.
In his vignette "Last Kiss," he states, "To my great surprise , he reached out and shook my hand." (Fletcher,2005,p.82) This specific line is a line that every reader looks for in a book. The sentence used foreshadowing, he gives a hint to the readers so they can predict what might happen next, in this case he tells that Ralph's dad just stop giving him kisses and started using handshakes like real men.
As shown in these examples Ralph Fletcher uses a creatively different type of text. This type of text leaves an emotion for the readers and that's the technique that he used in his writing and that's also why I loved the excerpts that we read.

TRICK OR TREAT!!!!!! Halloween ids finally here, the celebration every child has been waiting for all year long but I on the other hand am more interested in my 12th birthday. My birthday is this November 5 at exactly 5:07 a.m. I have been waiting so long to be as mature as I am now and as i look at myself I think about how much I've been through and this year I can look back again and think over about how much has changed over the years. Next year is what I've been waiting for mostly my whole life to become a teenager but lets focus on this year. This year my mom was planning on staying in a hotel in the Atlantic city mostly so that we can all have fun. My grandma and uncle to the casinos and my mom and me to the museums there. If we don't continue on with this plan we could also go to Benihana a personal favorite of mine. this restaurant stands out from the others because they cook right in front of you. Imagine your table also being a hot grill that they can cook anything on. Cheesecake Factory, how does that sound to you? To my ears it sounds like music because of how fancy it is in there. They have cheesecakes, lobsters, anything your stomach grumbles for. I think I've told to much already so its time to end this entry with a song. Happy birthday to me Happy birthday to me Happy birthday, Happy birthday,Happy birthday to me (Well almost)
